Liquidity check

  • NNQ is the busiest E-nano, around 50k contracts a day in mid-October.
  • NES ran far thinner (peak above 10k on Sep 24). N2K is lighter still.
  • Expect wider spreads on nanos than on MES / MNQ.

Margin and fees

  • Reported exchange margin: NNQ ≈ $474 initial, NES ≈ $287 initial. E-mini and Micro S&P / Nasdaq figures are scaled from these. ZN is 110% of the $1,875 maintenance margin.
  • Rows tagged "est" use a rough % of notional. Exchanges reset margins often, especially in crude and crypto. Your broker's number is the one that counts.
  • Day-trade margins are broker-set (Optimus: $50 MES, $100 MNQ) and drop to overnight levels at the close. Nano day rates here are micro ÷ 10 estimates; Robinhood's may differ.
  • Per-side fees are a bigger share of a nano trade. At ~$1.22 round-trip, NES needs about 5 ticks just to cover costs.
